Compact Projects
Within each Compact are projects chosen by the country through a rigorous, open process which are targeted at reducing poverty and stimulating economic growth.
Transportation Project
- Rehabilitates a primary road segment in the Pacific corridor;
- Upgrades key secondary routes to link rural producers to the primary road network;and
- Funds road maintenance and technical assitance to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrstructure.
Rural Business Development Project
- Provides business development services, disseminates market information, and develops improved production techniques;
- Provides technical assistance to small and medium farms and agribusinesses transition to higher profit activities; and
- Improves water supply for irrigation through the use of a watershed management action plan in the Northwest region of Nicaragua.
Property Regularization Project
- Provides technical support to government institutions to implement and sustain tenure regularization reforms in Leon;
- Records area-wide cadastral mapping in Leon to obtain accurate property descriptions ; and
- Standarizes land tenure policies.
Monitoring and Evaluation
Collects quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate the impact of compact projects.
Program Administration and Oversight
Costs include implementing unit’s administrative expenses for fiscal agent unit and external audit.
