Projected Results by End of Compact
The Tanzania Compact aims to achieve the results below by the end of the compact in August 2013:
- Improve 430 kilometers of high-traffic roads on the mainland and up to 35 kilometers of rural roads on Pemba Island, Zanzibar;
- Increase the transmission capacity of the electricity grid in 7 regions on the mainland (Kigoma, Morogoro, Tanga, Mbeya, Iringa, Dodoma, and Mwanza) and on Unguja Island, Zanzibar, and
- Increase the water supply by 90 million liters per day in Dar es Salaam and by 15 million liters per day in Morogoro.

Impact Evaluation Framework
In addition to careful monitoring of implementation performance and measurement of preliminary results, MCC will be funding several independent evaluations that will assess what would have happened in the absence of the MCC investments and measure the gains in income that can be attributed specifically to MCC-funded activities.
