MCC CEO Sean Cairncross hosts Burkina Faso Ambassador to the United States Sedyou Kabore; His Excellency Roch Marc Christian Kaboré, President of Burkina Faso (attending virtually); and Assistant, Ambassador Secretary Tibor Nagy at MCC’s headquarters for the signing of the MCC-Burkina Faso Compact II. As MCC’s second compact with Burkina Faso, the program will focus on addressing primary constraints to economic growth: the high cost, poor quality, and low access to electricity. The compact will aim to improve energy infrastructure, generation capacity, and source diversification. It will also support Burkina Faso’s increased participation in regional power markets and the development of a potential MCC regional investment.
