“On behalf of MCC, I extend our deepest condolences to the people and Government of Côte d’Ivoire on the passing of Prime Minister Gon Coulibaly on July 8. We join all Ivorians in honoring his life of excellent public service and statesmanship. The Prime Minister was a champion of the MCC partnership and our programs—including the reforms he led to strengthen Côte d’Ivoire’s eligibility for its bilateral MCC compact and concurrent regional compact. Prime Minister Coulibaly promoted important policy reform and created economic opportunity for millions of Ivorians. We remain committed to honoring his legacy by working together to successfully implement the MCC-Côte d’Ivoire Compact.”
