Washington, D.C.—Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Chief Executive Officer Daniel W. Yohannes announced today that Victoria Wassmer has joined MCC as Vice President for Administration and Finance.

As Vice President for Administration and Finance, Ms. Wassmer will lead administrative services, financial management, human resources, information technology, logistics and travel, overseas administration, procurement, and security. She also will serve as MCC Chief Financial Officer and as the principal advisor on MCC funding and financial policies.
Ms. Wassmer comes to MCC from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), where she was Deputy Assistant Administrator for Financial Services and Chief Financial Officer. There, she administered a $16 billion annual budget, with 48,000 employees spread throughout 16 countries across the globe. She spearheaded the agency’s involvement with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and oversaw the FAA’s reporting, procurement and risk management for the $1.3 billion in funding from the Recovery Act. For the past six months, Ms. Wassmer had been on a temporary assignment, serving as the Senior Advisor to the FAA Administrator. She was a Principal Advisor on the dissemination of aviation safety rules and other key leadership initiatives.
Ms. Wassmer joined the FAA in 2004 to head its Performance and Cost Analysis program. She later was appointed as Deputy Director of the Office of Budget. Before joining the FAA, Ms. Wassmer was a Senior Associate with the Carmen Group and served as a Program Analyst for the Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority. From 1996-2002, she worked at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) as a Policy Analyst and Special Assistant in the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, and, later, as a Program Examiner and as Acting Branch Chief in OMB’s transportation branch. During the summer of 1994, Ms. Wassmer worked in South Africa as a Research Assistant at the Development Bank of South Africa.
Ms. Wassmer received her AB in Political Science from Bryn Mawr College and her Masters in Public Policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
