WASHINGTON, D.C., August 27, 2018- Today, the Millennium Challenge Corporation released a video from new Acting Chief Executive Officer Brock D. Bierman. View the full video below:

Full text of video: “Hello, my name is Brock Bierman. I’m grateful and honored to join the Millennium Challenge Corporation as its Acting CEO. I’m excited to be here and work with the agency’s talented and dedicated staff.

By reducing global poverty, we are strengthening U.S. national security and increasing opportunities for American businesses abroad and jobs at home. We are helping people lift themselves out of poverty, and empowering them to create a better future. Through our unique model, we encourage countries to improve governance and rule of law by using data, accountability, and results to guide our investments.

As Acting CEO, I will continue to work to expand our partnerships with stakeholders, particularly U.S. businesses. I’ll work to open the door for MCC to succeed in regional, cross-border investments as well as strengthen collaboration with U.S. and development partners.

To our partner countries and other team members around the world, I look forward to engaging with you and being part of your efforts to drive forward economic growth and poverty reduction. I look forward to seeing firsthand the important work being done.

I can’t wait to work with all of you and to continue to build on MCC’s strong foundation. Let’s work together to seize the opportunities and meet the challenges ahead.”
