Washington, D.C. —On Friday, October 7, by unanimous consent, the Senate confirmed Ambassador John J. Danilovich to be the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). Current plans call for President Bush to appoint Ambassador Danilovich to the position of MCC CEO, and then Ambassador Danilovich will be sworn in to his new position. Ambassador Danilovich will likely assume his new duties with MCC in early November. He will continue to serve as Ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil until November.
Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), a U.S. government corporation designed to work with some of the poorest countries in the world, is based on the principle that aid is most effective when it reinforces good governance, economic freedom, and investments in people that promote economic growth and elimination of extreme poverty.
