WASHINGTON, D.C., July 8, 2020 –The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) is deeply saddened by the passing of former MCC Board Member and Assistant Secretary of State Lorne Craner, a veteran diplomat and foreign policy leader.
Lorne’s remarkable contributions throughout his career have impacted foreign policy today and for generations to come. MCC is especially grateful for Lorne’s leadership in promoting democratic governance and a commitment to human rights in our partner countries—he was instrumental in advancing MCC’s program eligibility criteria on good governance. In his work with MCC, Lorne helped to shape programs that have lifted millions of people out of poverty across the globe.
