Revised Gender in the Economy Indicator for FY19

The Gender in the Economy indicator—one of 20 selection indicators MCC uses to determine country eligibility for MCC program assistance—will be updated starting in fiscal year 2019 to include additional questions from the indicator source. The update will produce an expanded index that measures the extent to which laws provide women with equal capacity to participate in the economy, get a job, own property, go to court and be protected from violence.

While this new version of the indicator will be used formally beginning in fiscal year 2019, the tables below are an example of how countries will perform under this new approach.
