As Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Managing Director of the Millennium Challenge Corporation’s Financial Management Division, Adam Bethon leads MCC’s financial policies, programs and activities, including budget formulation and execution, accounting management operations, financial reporting and analytics, financial systems, and financial internal controls and audit compliance.
Mr. Bethon joined MCC in 2016 serving as Budget Officer/Senior Director of Corporate Budget Management. He led the agency in financial planning and analysis, implemented a new Integrated Planning, Budgeting, and Execution framework, and provided broad administrative and policy direction as they relate to managing overall budget operations.
Mr. Bethon previously worked for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as a senior advisor to leadership within the agency’s Office of the Chief Financial Officer and as a Branch Chief responsible for managing funds for agency management services and headquarters support offices.
Additionally, Mr. Bethon brings extensive foreign assistance experience to MCC, having worked in a multitude of critical budget and financial system positions for more than 10 years at the Peace Corps. He served as the Planning and Budget Manager for Choice Hotels International and has experience in accounting and financial reporting for large and small commercial businesses.
Mr. Bethon holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland.
