MCC’s investments in Malawi have enabled women such as Grace Ghambi to pursue careers in the energy sector. Grace believes that MCC’s work in her country will help empower women to bring Malawi out of poverty.
As part of the compact between MCC and the Government of Niger, $2.3 million in grants were awarded to producer/processor groups and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, including women and youth groups.
MCC has taken the innovative step of adopting quality and performance based selection (QPBS) in awarding program contracts for goods and works. This approach provides the best value for U.S. taxpayers and MCC partner countries.
