Côte d'Ivoire Compact Signing Ceremony

Acting Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of African Affairs Stephanie Sullivan and Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Acting CEO Jonathan Nash welcomed Côte d’Ivoire President Alassane Ouattara in the Exhibit Hall of of the U.S. Department of State for the signing of a new $524.7 million MCC compact with Côte d’Ivoire on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at 10:00 a.m.

The ceremony formalized MCC's Côte d’Ivoire Compact to spur economic growth and private investment by supporting the country’s long-term drive to diversify its economy through investments in the education and transport sectors. The Government of Côte d’Ivoire will contribute an additional $22 million to support the compact program.
