WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Millennium Challenge Corporation CEO Dana J. Hyde and Vice President Beth Tritter join colleagues from across the U.S. Government in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia this week at the Third International Conference on Financing for Development.
MCC was conceived at the first Conference on Financing for Development in Monterrey, Mexico in 2002. Now more than 10 years later, MCC has invested more than $10 billion to fight poverty through economic growth and become a major contributor to the post-2015 development agenda, specifically in the areas of data, domestic resource mobilization and Power Africa.
Hyde and Tritter will participate in a number of panels and discussions during the conference, joining fellow government leaders from the U.S. Department of Treasury, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, the National Security Council, the U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Trade Representative.
The Financing for Development Conference brings together world leaders, finance and foreign ministers, private sector representatives, and non-governmental organizations to lay out a policy framework that will help countries to identify, attract, and access diverse sources of finance in support of sustainable development.
