Washington, D.C.- Millennium Challenge Corporation Chief Financial Officer Matt Bohn met with U.S. businesses and civic and international development leaders this week in Atlanta to discuss opportunities for expansion into new and emerging markets. His visit was part of

MCC

MCC CFO Matt Bohn, second from left, listens to leaders of the Liberian business and civic community in Atlanta, Ga., July 21, 2015.

an agency-wide effort to bring development and partnership opportunities to U.S. businesses across the country.

While in Atlanta, Bohn held meetings with CARE, The Coca Cola Company and Habitat for Humanity, participated in a roundtable discussion about global development and partnerships with MCC hosted by former Congressman Jim Kolbe and the German Marshall Fund, and joined a U.S. Global Leadership Coalition lunch discussion with the World Affairs Council and CDC Foundation. He also met with Liberian and Filipino officials, and served dinner at the Atlanta Mission shelter for homeless men.

Bohn's visit follows MCC CEO Dana J. Hyde's visit to Chicago in April where she  talked with dozens of Chicago area business leaders about millions of dollars in contract opportunities for MCC-funded projects--as well as millions more in grant and public-private partnership opportunities.

MCC works with poor but well-governed countries to fund development projects in sectors that are most likely to generate economic growth based on a rigorous, data-driven analysis. Through partnerships with the private sector, MCC is helping its partner countries generate more effective, more sustainable growth, while opening up new markets for U.S. businesses.
