Peter Jaffe Joins MCC as Vice President, General Counsel

WASHINGTON (November 6, 2023) – Today, Peter Jaffe joined the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.

Mr. Jaffe joins MCC from the leading law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP where he provided legal advice and strategic guidance on complex international matters and served as deputy chair of the firm’s anti-corruption practice group.

“From emerging markets to Capitol Hill to compliance, Peter brings a wealth of experience to this critical role,” said CEO Alice Albright. “Peter will be instrumental in advising the agency on key programs, policies, and procedures and as well as leading engagements with our Board of Directors. I am delighted to welcome him to the MCC family.”

Mr. Jaffe’s distinguished career has spanned both private and public sectors. Prior to joining MCC, he served as counsel to two leading international law firms, where he advised multinational corporations on the legal and compliance aspects of foreign mergers, acquisitions, and investments, with a focus on transactions in emerging market countries. He also served as the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer of a global energy company concentrating in delivering power to underserved markets and leading the transition from hydrocarbons to green energy.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Jaffe was President and Chief Legal Officer of a technology and services company. Mr. Jaffe began his career at the United States Department of Justice where he served as a trial attorney, a special assistant United States Attorney, and counsel to the United States Senate Judiciary Committee.
