Secretary of State and Chairman of the Board of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Michael R. Pompeo and Mongolian Prime Minister Ukhnaa Khurelsukh today signed a Joint Declaration recognizing the new $350 million MCC Water Compact with Mongolia.
MCC’s Fatema Sumar visited Mongolia this week to meet with Prime Minister Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and other government officials to advance the development of the proposed compact program with Mongolia.
At its quarterly meeting on December 13, 2016, the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Board of Directors selected Burkina Faso, Sri Lanka and Tunisia for new MCC compacts – five-year grants – to encourage economic growth and reduce poverty.
At its quarterly meeting Dec. 10, the Millennium Challenge Corporation Board of Directors voted to make Nepal, Mongolia and the Philippines eligible for new compacts and approved Guatemala's Threshold Program.
