Lesson Learned
When improving road infrastructure, MCC should consider recycling old road pavement to reduce costs. The Moldova Road Rehabilitation Project had a cost savings of approximately $23 million, or 17% of the original projected project cost. The cost reduction was partially achieved through the adoption of a cold asphalt recycling technology, as recycling parts of the old pavement helped reduce the use of new materials.
